Monet's Fun Camp

11-year-old Monet might have been named after a famous artist, but she doesn’t have any skills as far as she can tell, unless you count always failing math. Her mama tells her she’s a people-centered person, and that’s the best kind of person there is, but that doesn’t help Monet get good grades in school. “Forget about school and have fun!” Mama insists on the first day of summer vacation. Monet tries, but while her best friend Diamond can see fun in a sunburn, all Monet can see is the suffering people in her inner city neighborhood. Summer isn’t looking good for Monet or Diamond until Monet hatches a plan to create a Fun Camp that turns her neighborhood upside down—in a right-side up kind of way.

Meet the Tanners

When the lights go out on a stormy August evening, the Tanner family all pitch in to help Mom deliver seven sheltie puppies by candlelight. Mom’s a bit eccentric about her Shelties, and Dad tries to pretend he isn’t. But when the puppy that stole his heart is being mistreated, Dad surprises everyone. Drew’s dog takes on an eagle, and Gabby’s is lost in a blizzard—thanks to bully Cousin Archie. A mad chase ensues when Joey’s puppy nabs a love letter. Placing each puppy in just the right home takes skill and instinct, something Mom needs plenty of when an overeager caller wants to buy a puppy sight unseen, and Mom suspects foul play. Why would the woman intentionally lie to her and give a false address? Mom intends to find out!

Drew comes up with a plan they can’t even tell Grandma Babbin about, and he and Gabby get the surprise of their lives in Finding Jack! (Warning: CUTE dogs on board!)
